Team Mentors

Our team mentors are very important to us, guiding us and helping us to succeed in our careers. Here are our mentors this season:

Mr. Michael Mountain

Beginning in the 2014 season, Mr. Mountain became the teacher for several of the school's Career and Technical Education classes, including the robotics and electronics classes. At this time he became our faculty advisor and has been leading our team since.

Mr. Brandon Dusseau

Brandon DusseauMr. Dusseau graduated from Monroe High School in 2011. Since then, he has completed a degree in Computer Science at Michigan Technological University. Despite no longer being in town, he continues to help the team in any way he can, answering questions about the website and operating A/V equipment at our annual MARC event.

Mr. Garrett Gautz

Garrett GautzMr. Gautz served as one of our captains during his time on our team, with four years drive team experience plus coaching experience. He graduated as a member of the class of 2012. He is currently our lead programming mentor and electrical mentor.

Miss Kalli Loggins

Miss Loggins served as the teams public relations adviser, treasurer and co-captain. She was also a member of drive team and lead electrician during her time on the team. A member of the graduating class of 2015, she is currently mentoring for both build and electrical with her four years of FIRST experience. She is currently studying Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of Toledo.

Honorary Mentors

Mr. Steve Ketron

Steve KetronMr. Ketron was the electronics, robotics, renewable energy, and home repair teacher at Monroe High School, as well as the former head mentor for our team. Mr. Ketron taught team members how to wisely use resources, and believes strongly in learning from mistakes. After several years of service to our team, Mr. Ketron moved on to a new career at the end of the 2013 season. We wish Mr. Ketron good luck in his new endeavors!


Mr. Kyle Christensen

Mr. Christensen was the Physics teacher at Monroe High School and was our faculty adviser for the 2014 season.
