What Happened to iPirates?

You may have noticed recently that our team has completely rebranded and the site's layout has been changed. There are actually several reasons for this. Here are a few of them:

1. To Become Closer

For quite a while, our school had two robotics teams. One was an in-class program, known as Ketronix Trojan Robotics 2719, and the other was an after-school program, iPirates 1528. Having two separate teams lead to confusion, communication issues, and inconsistency in the robotics program. For that reason, the teams are once again combining as of the 2011 season.

2. School Spirit

Recently, the iPirates were questioned about their apparent lack of school spirit. While it's hardly true that we lacked school spirit, our yellow and black colors, as well as our strange name, suggested that very thing to many students and staffers. For that reason, we have adopted our school's red and white colors, as well as keeping black for style reasons. We have also changed our name to Monroe Trojan Robotics to better fit our school's reputation.

3. Resources

Alone, our teams struggled to stay out of the red with our parts and money supply. Since our merger, we can now combine our resources and thrive.

Well, there you have it! These are only a few of the benefits we get from combining and rebranding. We hope that it's all for the best and wish to see many more years as MTR 1528.
